Role: Team Coordinator, DeepMind for Google
The DeepMind for Google (DMG) team does practical AI research and partners with Google product teams to deploy machine learning algorithms to improve Google products and services. The DeepMind for Google team is very collaborative and diverse, and consists of Software Engineers, Research Engineers, Research Scientists, Program Managers and Product Managers, all of whom work very closely together.
This role serves as a key conduit between DMG and the rest of DeepMind, providing coordination and general administrative support to a team of about 50. You should expect to work with a degree of ambiguity as we continually adapt to a growing and evolving business. You’ll be given a lot of responsibility, so it’s essential you are super organised, switched on and able to prioritise work that needs to be done that day. You will be a key go-to person in supporting the DMG team with ad hoc requests and tasks, to ensure that the team has everything they need to achieve their work.
This role supports the DMG lead (located in LON) by coordinating meetings, interviews, conference calls, travel and appointments across multiple timezones and organizations. You will proactively look for problems and issues and solve to support the team and the DMG lead doing their best work. You will perform ad hoc administrative tasks to support the rest of the group, such as: booking team meetings, minute taking and coordinating visitors.
You will also work with cross functional partner teams to help embed new starters and support them on their learning journey. You will help plan team events and coordinate travel, taking into account company-wide events and industry conferences, and managing conflicts. You look for ways to improve the office environment, and partner with other teams at DeepMind to provide a best in class working environment.
You’ll have some experience within an administrative role and in particular managing complex diaries. You will be flexible and highly responsive to the needs of your primary stakeholders, project teams, and the wider group, to support them doing their best work. You are highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and switch context very quickly. You are proactive and are able to identify team needs without being prompted, and are able to design solutions independently or will seek the help needed to solve problems.
You are comfortable working in a high performance environment with senior partners and stakeholders, and are able to build trust with everyone you interact with. Enthusiasm and strong communication skills are needed to interact with the variety of people and job functions we interface with. You have experience working in a constantly creative, changing and dynamic environment. You enjoy a team environment and are energized by building relationships and spending time with people.
